24 October 1946 - 22 November 2014

David Waite was the Wadestown GP for the last 30+ years. Sadly, he passed away on Saturday 22 November 2014, following a well fought battle against his illness over the last year.

David was a exceptional GP who cared deeply for his patients and never hesitated to go the extra mile for them. He was an amazing diagnostician with an incredible memory for detail, but above all was a kind man, never judgmental, providing expert care for all.

David's incredible intellect enabled him to juggle many medical disciplines. He was visiting neurologist at Wellington Hospital as well as being a visiting occupational physician for Hutt Hospital, the Chief Medical Officer for BPNZ and a consultant for ACC - all these positions managed while he continued as a GP. He thoroughly enjoyed general practice, the variety of medicine that it provided, and the contact it gave him with people.

We are thankful for Dr Waite's life, and that we could share some part of our lives with him. He will be remembered fondly.
